Deliberate Acts
by VanDweller

If you are a doer,  your decisions lead you to action.
DECISION = DELIBERATE ACT

If you are a seeker, anything you do has meaning.
MY DECISIONS = DELIBERATE ACTS OF MEANING

When I moved out onto this land in May of 2000, I didn't have it in a word at
that time, but I knew I needed to be here and that this was the right thing to do.
The word I see in hindsight and that directly applies to the continued walking of
this path three years later is intentional. Coming here was a deliberate act with
meaning and significance. Adapting to the vast changes in lifestyle took deliberate
act with meaning. All the projects, all the systems, all the growth, all the resulting
creative works, every one directly resulting from deliberate acts with meaning
and significance. Intentional. Yes, the seed grows by Greater Forces...
but it is deliberate act which spreads the seed.

People not sharing your vision or seeing the significance in your change have
no hope of understanding your intent or the meaning of your deliberate acts.
They will see you as "running away" and, from their perspective, you are.
The reality is that they are being left behind as you evolve and change and
grow and seek and walk towards something else - something of higher
calling, some situation more fulfilling to those new rooms you have
discovered in your internal temple; and every deliberate act with meaning
and significance is a footstep on a Greater Path. Sanctify the task, and
good work shall be done. For all purposes, the day I crossed the line
of total commitment, I became an intentional community of one.

Intentional. Intent is what it all comes down to. The difference between
existing and living, drifting and swimming, crawling and climbing,
wishing and searching. That which you wish for will be drawn to you
but only by the energies you put forth during the preparation, growth,
and betterment of self and situation during your journey in its general
direction. Do something to further yourself towards what you want,
and your positive gain will be more that just the steps you have taken.

I now live an intentional life. I live it; it does not merely happen. I am
thankful for every drop of water I haul in, reverent in its use, and mindful
of where it goes when I'm through with it. Everything takes effort of
varying degrees, there are no simple switches or hired hands here.
Intentional acts with meaning and significance - these are what my
days are filled with. I do these actions with reverence and love and
gratitude, dedicate my work to Greater Good, and this makes my
every act a prayer and catalyst for ripples outward... and my home
a church... and my body a temple... and my soul an altar to gift
with offerings to the Higher Power that is best connected with
in sacred places of peace and reverence and love and gratitude.

This is what I want this soul to be, this body to be, this home to be,
this land to be, this life to be - and an intentional act of meaning and
significance is the raw material one who chooses to shall use to build.
